We’re COMING HOME for the 154th commencement on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. For the first time in decades, we will host Commencement on the historic front lawn of Brownlee Hall for a regal and traditional ceremony.
Our commencement speaker is Kim Seymour, Human Resources executive formerly of Etsy, Weightwatchers, American Express and General Electric. In addition, we will celebrate the milestone anniversaries of the Classes of 1964, 1974 and 1999.

For Graduates
Arrival Time: Graduates should arrive at Commencement on Saturday, May 11th, at 7:00 AM, and meet in
GOH 111.
Rehearsal: Commencement rehearsal will take place on Friday, May 10th, at 9:00 AM on the Brownlee
Hall Lawn. Please bring the shoes you will wear at Commencement to acclimate to the terrain.
Lantern Service: The Lantern Service will be held on Thursday, May 9th, at 6:00 PM at Metropolitan
Baptist Church. All graduates should meet in GOH 111 at 5:30 PM for robing and lineup.
Presidential Reception: Following the Lantern Service, the Presidential Reception will be held in the
Student Center. Families of graduates are welcome to attend
Additional Information
Cap & Gown Pickup: Information regarding cap and gown pickup will be communicated to you via email.
Arrival Time to Campus: Plan your arrival to campus accordingly, ensuring you have ample time for
preparation and participation in pre-commencement events.
As you prepare to embark on this new chapter in your lives, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to
