Hello Future Magicians! 

Welcome to LeMoyne-Owen College, the only Historically Black College/University located in Memphis, TN and the 5th oldest HBCU in the country. We blend a family-oriented environment with a 4-year liberal arts degree that encourages the growth and development of our students, and we lead our students with the Source of Black Excellence! We offer over 24 exciting programs that include Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry, and our Nursing Partnership Program.

The Mission of the Admissions Department at LeMoyne-Owen College is to build positive relationships with students, be committed to recruiting and enroll diverse, high-quality students that will produce an increase of talented and skilled students reflective of the college’s history of providing opportunities to students from all backgrounds. Using alumni support, outreach, recruitment, and a high level of dedication to the success of our students, the Admissions office strives to be the forefront for students matriculating and staying on the path for success as they venture out and become future leaders.

  1. Complete the Enrollment Application: Make sure every required section is filled out completely. Please click HERE.
  2. Official High School Transcript: Submit an official transcript that shows your date of graduation and accumulative GPA. 
  3. Official College Transcripts: Provide official transcripts from all colleges you’ve attended for transfer students.
  4. Immunization Records: Make sure you have MMR 1&2 and Varicella 1&2 (Measles, Mumps and Chicken Pox)

Meeting these requirements is essential to ensure a smooth enrollment process. All incoming freshman students must have a minimum weighted GPA of 2.0. Any missing documents could lead to delays, so make sure all documents are submitted to the admissions department. 

Transcripts should be ordered through Parchment or Clearinghouse. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to the admissions department. We are here to help pave the way for your successful journey!

Once Admitted – Next Steps

  1. Complete the FAFSA Application: This is essential for determining your financial aid eligibility. Do not delay!  www.FAFSA.gov
  2. Complete the Housing Application : If you are planning to stay on campus at the Patton Hall on-Campus Living & Learning Center, pay your $215.00 housing application fee for incoming freshman. Complete the housing application HERE
  3. Sign up for New Student Orientation: For all students enrolling during the Fall Semester, please contact the admissions department and sign up for a mandatory new student orientation.
  4. Contact Your Advisor or Academic Department Chair: Once your transcripts have been reviewed, reach out to your advisor for all freshman and sophomore students or department chair if you are a transfer student, junior or senior to register for classes. This is a mandatory step to ensure you are on track.
