LeMoyne-Owen College was awarded a $75,000 grant from the First Point Volleyball Foundation to support the establishment of a men’s volleyball program, NCAA Division II team, starting in the 2024-2025 season.
This makes the 5th oldest HBCU in the nation the seventh Southern Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SIAC) NCAA Div. II HBCU to add the sport.
The gift will be granted over a period of three years to assist with start-up costs and to provide funding to LOC Athletics as they provide support, facility improvements, recruiting expenses, and other services to men’s volleyball athletes.
“We are grateful to the First Point Volleyball Foundation for their generosity and support of our beloved LOC and our future in athletics,” says Dr. Christopher B. Davis. “This enriches our campus community and provides invaluable opportunities for our student-athletes.”
