In response to the recent nationwide closure of Job Corps programs, LeMoyne-Owen College is stepping up to support displaced students with the launch of its new Kick Start Scholarship initiative. This targeted support offers financial relief and a path forward for students impacted by the unexpected program shutdowns.

Effective immediately, LeMoyne-Owen College will offer:

  • $1,000 per year in tuition discounts for full-time students, and
  • $500 per year for part-time students

Students must have previously been enrolled in a Job Corps program and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 to retain the scholarship annually.

President Christopher Davis affirmed the College’s commitment to accessible education:

“We understand the uncertainty and disruption that these students are facing. LeMoyne-Owen College is proud to provide a stable, welcoming environment for them to continue their education. The Kick Start Scholarship is just one way we’re living out our mission to uplift and empower future leaders.”

This scholarship reflects the College’s broader commitment to supporting underserved populations and responding quickly to emerging national educational challenges.
